The Galaxy's Frame
I spotted this composition on a scouting walk while staying on a property in Queensland. I noticed if I was lucky enough, how the Milkyway core could be perfectly framed between the trees to create a composition with very natural framing. I pulled out my phone and checked my star map app to see if my dream for this composition could become real.
Luckily it did, that night I went out and shot this composition amongst others. I used a torch for about 3 seconds to illuminate the trees slightly and I feel this shot couldn’t have worked out better.
Clearly, the most prominent detail about this image is the incredibly precise framing of the core between the trees, it almost looks as though the trees were grown like this for this very reason.
