Sails and the Sunrise
The conditions I got for this shot couldn’t have been more perfect. I had been wanting to get this composition for some time but had been waiting for a morning with the right conditions.
I checked the cloud coverage and cloud altitude the night before and noticed it would be just right at sunrise. Lo and behold it couldn’t have been better.
I composed this shot so that the light bulbs to the left had their own little scenes within the bulbs, this is a detail I love about this image. I wanted to create those leading lines created by the pier out to the Opera House to help guide the viewer’s eyes around the scene naturally.
This shot is one of my top sellers and is also one of my all-time favourite shots that I’ve captured
