Driftwood
When I captured this photo I was on a walk along the beach on a beautiful spring afternoon, the sun was quite low in the sky and was casting a gorgeous side light on this piece of driftwood that I stumbled upon.
This photo was quite difficult to capture because of the harsh side light being cast onto the scene and the high dynamic range of the image. The timing was also a problem with this photo because with it being high tide at the time, waves kept coming up around the driftwood and shifting the sand around it, causing the log to move in the middle of my 30 Second exposure.
After a fair bit of trial and error I finally got the photo I was after, I was so overjoyed with how this one came out and still am, years later. This is one of my top sellers and is quite a talking point at a fair few of the markets I’ve done.
